Premier Payroll Solutions Named to the 2023 Inc. 5000
LONG ISLAND, NY | August 2025 | Premier Payroll Solutions has earned a place on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing private companies, ranking No. 2,948 with three year revenue growth of 139 percent. It is the third year running that the company has appeared on the national ranking.
For Premier, the placement matters less than what produced it. The company credits the clients who stayed through their own growth, the employees who handle those accounts every day, the accountants and benefits advisors who send business its way, and the Long Island business community that supported the company well before any national recognition arrived.
“Any company can put together one strong year. Doing it three years running is a different kind of proof,” said Michael D’Onofrio, Managing Partner and President of Premier Payroll Solutions. “It tells us the growth is holding. The businesses that chose us early are still with us, and they are still introducing us to other owners.”

Where the Growth Came From
Premier operates on a straightforward idea: give employers the workforce technology they need without asking them to give up the responsiveness and direct access that larger national providers rarely deliver.
Nearly all of the company’s growth has come from people talking to other people. Clients have added services as their own businesses expanded. Employers have moved over from national payroll and HCM companies. Accountants, benefits advisors, consultants, and industry associations have continued sending businesses to Premier because the clients they referred came back satisfied.
The Inc. 5000 ranks privately held American companies each year by how much their revenue grew across a three year window. At 139 percent, Premier’s growth reflects momentum that has held rather than a single strong stretch. The company entered the list at No. 4,083 in 2023, moved to No. 3,141 in 2024, and reached No. 2,948 this year.
A Growing Alternative to National Providers
A third consecutive appearance also says something about how businesses are finding Premier now.
In the early years, almost every new client arrived through an introduction. More recently, Premier has become a company owners seek out on purpose, usually after a national provider has stopped working for them. They describe service that feels automated, support queues that take too long, and systems that were never designed around the rules their industry actually operates under.
That pattern has not pushed Premier to change what it does. It has confirmed it.
“Being the biggest payroll company was never the goal. Being the one an owner calls without hesitating was,” D’Onofrio said. “Every client here has a specific person who knows their business and picks up the phone. We are not willing to trade that for size.”
Beyond the Payroll Run
Premier has steadily widened what it handles for each client, with the aim of removing administrative work from employers rather than handing them another system to manage.
The company runs payroll processing and tax filing, employee self service, time and attendance, benefits administration, onboarding, recruiting, and reporting, with one team coordinating all of it instead of several vendors working separately.
Restaurant and hospitality groups remain Premier’s deepest area of expertise, and the company has continued building there while taking on more security firms, trucking operations, and property management companies. These are employers with shift schedules, tip rules, multi location payrolls, and classification requirements that off the shelf software tends to get wrong.
The requests have followed a similar pattern across all of those industries. Clients ask about compliance questions, hiring, and employee situations that sit well outside payroll itself. D’Onofrio treats that as an extension of the relationship rather than a change in direction.
“Owners do not separate payroll from HR in their heads. It is all just the work of running a business,” D’Onofrio said. “If we can turn five phone calls into one, that is worth something real to them.”
What Comes Next
Premier intends to keep hiring, keep investing in its technology, and keep strengthening the partner relationships that have carried much of its growth.
“The people who earned this are the ones answering client calls every day, along with the clients and partners who bet on us before we had a list to point to,” D’Onofrio said. “Three years on the Inc. 5000 is worth celebrating, but I am more interested in what we build from here. There is room in this industry for a company that gives businesses everything a national provider can, and still knows their name.”
